Summerly began dancing when she was four years old.  With the pretty costumes, fun shoes, and friends, she was immediately hooked.  She spent years performing and competing.  At the age of 15, she began teaching and choreographing.

Summerly graduated from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls with a major in Biology and minors in Chemistry a nd, of course, Dance.  In college, Summerly joined the UWRF Dance Theatre.  She was very involved in the Dance Theatre and was honored to be Treasurer and President of the organization.  Through the years of dancing in college, she was able to attend college dance festivals and study with great guest choreographers.  One of her favorite classes was her ballet class taught by Marius Andahazy, a former dancer with the Royal Swedish Ballet.  Studying dance in school gave Summerly a great appreciation of all different forms of dance and a realization of how moving and healing dance can be.

Summerly continued her education in the sciences and is currently a Medical Technologist at Methodist Hospital.  Even though her career keeps her busy, just like any dancer, she finds time to dance simply because she loves it.  She is really looking forward to being a part of a wonderful new studio in which children of all ages can have the opportunity to dance and have fun!
